THE WYOMING HANDYMAN

50% Deposit Policy

Effective Date: 12/01/2025

To reserve time on our schedule and secure materials for your project, The Wyoming Handyman requires a 50% deposit on all approved estimates, proposals, or service agreements, in order to schedule accepted work.

1. Purpose of the Deposit

The deposit is used to:

  • Reserve labor and project time in our schedule.
  • Cover initial labor mobilization and project planning. -
  • Purchase materials, supplies, and special-order items needed to complete the work.

Because many materials and scheduling slots cannot be recovered once allocated, the deposit helps ensure fairness to both the customer and our technicians.

 2. Amount Due

A deposit equal to fifty percent (50%) of the total project price is due at the time the customer accepts the estimate or service agreement. No purchase orders, scheduling, or work will begin until the deposit has been received.

3. Wyoming-Specific Considerations

Under Wyoming contract law, a signed or electronically accepted estimate/proposal along with payment of a deposit constitutes a binding service agreement. Because Wyoming is a materials-first state in terms of construction disputes, documentation of material purchases is important. Customers may request receipts showing where deposit funds were used for materials if a dispute arises.

4. Refundability of Deposits

To remain consistent with fair business practices and Wyoming norms, deposits are generally non-refundable once either of the following occurs:

  • Materials have been purchased; or
  • The project has been scheduled and labor has been allocated.

Refunds may be considered only if:

  • The customer cancels before materials are purchased and before a work date is scheduled; or
  • Cancellation is due to a demonstrable error on our part.

In such cases, refunds may be issued minus any administrative, planning, or processing costs already incurred.

Full refunds will be issued if:

  • The Wyoming Handyman is unable to perform the work for reasons not caused by the customer.

5. Changes in Scope

If the customer changes the scope after accepting the estimate:

  • A revised estimate may be issued.
  • Additional deposits may be required for expanded scope or additional materials.
  • Work is paused until any revised deposit is received.

6. Payment Methods

We accept credit/debit card, check, or exact cash. Deposits must clear before work and material purchases can begin.

7. Customer Responsibilities

By paying the deposit, the customer acknowledges:

  • Scheduling may be delayed if the deposit is not paid promptly.
  • Some materials - especially special-order or cut-to-measure items - are not returnable.
  • Costs associated with ordered materials and scheduled labor cannot be recovered once allocated.

8. Agreement

Payment of the deposit constitutes:

  • Acceptance of the approved estimate or service agreement;
  • Acceptance of The Wyoming Handyman’s 50% Deposit Policy; and
  • Authorization for us to purchase materials and schedule labor for the project.
